of others.
by JENNIFER DECKER
Staff reporter - Lapeer County Press
LAPEER COUNTY - As a successful female builder, Pam Anderson has
endured the doubts of others.
But
that's not about to stop the woman who was just nominated for
Woman of the Year for the National Association of Women in Construction.
"I
though 'Why me' because I'm a small builder in Lapeer looking
beyond profitability and looking at the human side of building,"
she said.
As
a general contractor and president and owner of Anderson Custom
Construction, Anderson hires subcontractors for new home construction.
She also does a little bit of everything else; from setting
up heaters to making sure subcontractors have their supplies
and even recently wiring her first fireplace switch. It's all
part of operating her own company.

Pam Anderson Homes
An Incredible Businesswoman Who Exudes Infectious Enthusiasm
Wherever She Goes
By Marilyn Cauthen
July 2005, The Builder's Journal of Flint/Lapeer
"Owner,
Pamela Anderson wants potential clients to know that she offers
a unique perspective to building a spec home. "Because
I am a woman, I think about things like right or left handed
loading dish-washers and the perfect height of a bathroom vanity
or kitchen cabinet." She tries to imagine who might be
living in the home and what special touches would be required.
"I'm not afraid to use color to create a certain atmosphere
and invoke feelings." She turns her innovative ideas into
reality and utilizes concepts that a client may have never considered.
In doing so, she anticipates a great lifestyle and sets the
tone for the way in which people live."

By SALLY RUMMEL
Special to The Press
"When
Pam Anderson and her husband Joe signed on the dotted line for
two mortgages to begin construction on two new homes last summer,
little did they know how their lives would change just one week
later.
Joe, founder of Anderson Custom Construction in Metamora, passed
away unexpectedly from a heart attack at age 48.The commitment
Pam and her husband had made to build those two homes soon became
her lifeline to wholeness again, allowing her to gain the confidence
she would need to lead the business — without the side-by-side
guidance she and her husband had enjoyed for years."
